Celebrities who often sport a great body or good health have to thank their diet. Some of them are not vocal about their food and diet secrets while there are celebrities who openly support a certain diet plan. These diet plans could have come from a book, from another diet expert or just a popular trend that have created a great impact on millions of people around the world.

One of the most popular talk show hosts in the history of TV, Oprah has openly supported a diet program called Total Body Makeover. Conceptualized by Bob Greene, this twelve week plan is composed of a series of exercises and specific diet plans. The diet plan is now on book which has been purchased by millions worldwide.

Kim Catrall is also a well known actress from the hit HBO series "Sex and the City". As she shows more skin in this series, she really needs to look good all the time. She has done this and she has credit the diet program called the "Perricone Diet". This 28-day diet plan is designed Dr. Nicholas Perricone. As a dermatologist, this diet doesn’t only aim to lose some fat in your body buy also to have a great toned skin. This diet plan is also supported by Julia Roberts.

Former President Bill Clinton and his wife, Senator Hillary Clinton has also supported a specific diet program. The famous couple supports the South Beach Diet which is probably the most popular type of diet plan in the world. Developed by a cardiologist for oversized heart patients, the South Beach Diet consists of three phases of meal plans that promises to reduce weight as well as improving the body’s health.

Some celebrities have even created a diet plan of their own. A great example is Dr. Phil McGraw who became famous because of his participation to some of Oprah’s shows. At the height of his fame, he wrote a book called the "Shape Up" with the support of different diet supplements that he also designed. 

Should You Follow Them?

The answer to that question is a "yes" and "no". "Yes" if you have dietician, a personal trainer and a doctor on a standby just to monitor your health and progress. Some of the diets mentioned above could be done without the help of these people but these celebrities were able to attain the weight they aim for since they have all the money to support them.

On the other hand, a very big "NO" to these diet plans is your answer if you don’t have the money to support them. Besides, they could just be there for commercial purposes and the celebrities might not even use them.

In the end, the simple formula of consistent exercise and healthy diet are still the most effective weight loss plan. You only need discipline to achieve them and even though the weight loss is slow, the body should be able to adapt efficiently and get you healthy at the same time.
